The Beau Rivage
The Beau Rivage restaurant at the Kempinski Hotel Moika 22 offers a total aesthetic pleasure – classical ambience, French cuisine, and live chamber music in the raised balcony above.
Chef Didier Reibel has haute cuisine in his veins; he was brought up with Larousse and Tante Marie. For him a great dish is an experience – Beef Wellington, Chicken Marengo, Steak Tartare; and Russia he knows has an important place in that heritage; after all, Careme worked for Tsar Alexander.
At the top of many people's lists of to go in St Petersburg there is the Bellevue Brasserie. With its 360-degree view of the city this trendy restaurant really is the place to see and be seen. People love to sit here for hours, taking in the famous view over the Hermitage Museum- the old Winter Palace of the tsars - and taking time for friends and family.
Linger over lunch, with Kamchatka crab, or the French cheese plate and a glass of Brunello. In the evenings you can keep it casual or dress up for whatever the occasion – settle back in an armchair, relax with an aperitif, indulge yourself with a little caviar, and savour the Caesar salad with grilled king prawns.
With its exposed brickwork, outstanding wine collection and rare cognacs, the Wine Cellar 1853 is all about the good life. Located in the cellars of the old mansion that houses the Kempinski Hotel Moika 22, the Wine Cellar 1853 is something of a retreat the stresses of the modern world.
Its guests like to congregate here in small numbers, pull the cork on a bottle of Bordeaux, 2005 (but we like just as much the Penfolds Grange 2004, the other side of the world), and talk about life and love. The menu has a selection of very fine delicacies and mature French cheeses ideally suited to go with a Graves or Sauternes.
Von Witte lounge
When you walk into the Von Witte lounge and bar you can feel the discreet cozy atmosphere of a gentlemen's club, like something straight out of old Russia. Situated in one of our mansion rooms, there is an open log fireplace, leather armchairs, a library, and a first-class view over the Moika River. The Von Witte is situated right at the very front of the Kempinski Hotel Moika 22, and is one of the most popular St Petersburg bars.
Light snacks are on the menu – try our club sandwich with crab, and caviar - available morning until late, and the bar offers a comprehensive selection of high-end beverages.
Russians call it 'five o' clock,' the tradition that we call afternoon tea. We like to think that when you enjoy our 'five o' clock' in the Tea Room at the Kempinski Hotel Moika 22, that you are experiencing something tantalizingly close to that indefinable emotion called the Russian soul. In our Tea Room there is the open log fireplace, the amazing view over Palace Square and the Hermitage, the finest Imperial Russian porcelain, a silver samovar – all as Russian as you can get. We offer fine French champagne here throughout the day.
The tea is a feast in itself offering the best of English afternoon tea, with a Russian accent - finger sandwiches, homemade scones and delicate patisserie, fruit preserves, dairy cream, and an assortment of leaf teas around the world.
